Unauthorized Practice of Law

REPORTING THE UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE OF LAW

The Wilkes-Barre Law & Library Association has volunteered to help reporting the unauthorized practice of law in Luzerne County.
Any lawyer or non-lawyer having knowledge of the unauthorized practice of law in Luzerne County should call the Law Library at (570)822-6712 or email Joseph.Burke@luzernecounty.org and he will help complete the W-BLLA UPL Committee Complaint Form and send it to the following:  (1) The W-BLLA Unauthorized Practice Committee (2) The President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas
(3) The Luzerne County District Attorney (4) The PA Bar Association Unauthorized Practice Committee.

As part of the W-BLLA’s process (on page 3 of this Complaint Form)-it is asked whether the Unauthorized Practice was reported to the PA Attorney General’s Office.  If the answer is “No” the W-BLLA will ask for permission to file the complaint with the AG’s office.  The complaint can be found by clicking here for the UPL Complaint Form.

If you wish to complete the W-BLLA’s complaint form on your own, simply download it, complete it and email to Joseph.Burke@luzernecounty.org or mail it to the Law Library at 200 North River St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711.

You may also report the Unauthorized Practice of Law directly to the PA Attorney General’s Office.  Click here to download the complaint form.

Also, please be aware of Notaries and the Unauthorized Practice of Law. Please read that notaries are not attorneys in (English) or (Spanish).
